Outlining & Mind Mapping for the Semantic Web
This is truly a post that blends some of my major areas of interest: mind mapping, knowledge management, and the semantic web. Mind Raider is a unique and useful tool that brings a semantic twist to an outliner and knowledge management application. From the Mind Raider site:
MindRaider is Semantic Web outliner. It aims to connect the tradition of outline editors with emerging technologies. MindRaider mission is to organize not only the content of your hard drive but also your cognitive base and social relationships in a way that enables quick navigation, concise representation and inferencing.
I’ve known about Mind Raider for some time, and think it is one of the most promising outliners and knowledge tools out there. I was just browsing through some of my older KM and semantic web bookmarks, and discovered the author published a slideshow on Slideshare. I thought I’d share!

I’ve downloaded Mind Raider, and I’m boggled by it. The documentation is disjointed, and assumes more knowledge than I have. I love this type stuff, but I’m lost in Mind Raider.
Do you know of any good instructions out there for Mind Raider?
Hi Steve,
To be honest, I haven’t spent too much time looking at the documentation. Whenever I last checked out Mind Raider, I was in “tinker” mode and managed to get it installed OK on Windows. I used it sporadically for a few weeks, but decided to move away from GUI solutions and evaluate some web-based products for my KM needs.
Mind Raider is definitely one of the most impressive knowledge manager/outliners that I’ve seen out there, but I will admit that my impression is that it’s geared towards a more techy and semantic-savvy audience.
I just checked out their site and realized they have a video manual:

Have you seen this?
